AMA Club 2863
The Magic Valley Air Force extends a hearty welcome to anyone interested in the sport of model aviation. To help us maintain a safe and enjoyable flying experience, we ask that all pilots and guests observe the following FLYING SITE RULES.
·
All
pilots must be a current member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
Non-AMA pilots must fly under the direction of a designated introductory pilot.
·
Guests
who are current AMA members may fly at the invitation of a MVAF member. Guests
are limited to four visits after which they will be requested to join the club.
·
New
members will be assessed a one time initiation fee of $100.
Annual field dues for the first year are $60 followed by $50 each year
thereafter.
·
All
pilots will obey the AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code.
·
Consumption
of Alcoholic Beverages on the Premises is strictly prohibited.
·
Pilots
and guests should conduct themselves in a civil and sportsmanlike manner
consistent with a family organization.
·
Flying is
permitted during daylight hours only except during special events.
·
Vehicles
are not permitted on the flying field. Parking is permitted between the gravel
road and the pasture fence.
·
Please
pick up all litter.
·
Engine
Sound Levels must be in accordance with AMA guidelines (98db at 9 feet).
Unmuffled engines are not permitted.
·
All
flying is to be done north of the runway centerline. No flying over the pit area is permitted.
·
All
takeoffs, landings, ‘touch and gos’ and passes over the runway shall be into
the prevailing winds to avoid collisions. If
wind direction cannot be determined flight direction shall be indicated by an
arrow installed on the safety fence. If a ‘dead stick’ landing is declared, other pilots
should clear the airspace over the field. Pilots
should call out takeoff and landing intentions to other pilots.
Cross-field landings are not permitted except in emergency.
·
Only five
aircraft are allowed airborne at any given time. Pilots should stand near one of the designated pilot stations
when flying. It is strongly
recommended that when multiple aircraft are in the air each pilot have a spotter
to watch for other aircraft.
·
Pilots
and helpers only are permitted in the pit area. All others must remain behind the safety fence.
·
Pilots
must obtain a frequency pin prior to flying.
Any pilot causing the crash of an aircraft because a radio was operated
without the pin is liable for that aircraft.
Pins must be returned to the box after use.
·
All
transmitters will carry AMA recommended aircraft channel numbers.
Radios must be ‘1991 certified’ for narrow band operations.
